Some of the QUESTIONS we’ll start with:

When we chat at 10:45am, please let us know if there’s anything specific you want us to ask about… and avoid.

  • How are you doing? How is your community doing?

  • How do you typically introduce yourself and your work?

  • What does life and work look like for you right now?

  • In this unprecedented time in which we’re living, what is an organization’s duty of care to its employees?

  • How is your organization and team(s) adjusting in the current environment?

  • What are some bright spots you’re seeing? What is your hope for the future?

  • We’re 8 months into a global pandemic. How are you maintaining your resilience and self-care?

  • We’ve heard countless times that “normal” is not coming back. Normal is what got us here. As we look to use this moment to co-create a new future where everyone can thrive, what are you seeing that gives you hope?

  • What are your parting thoughts as our time together on the episode comes to a close?

  • 11:30-11:35AM ET — Livestream concludes and goes off-line. Quick off-air Thank You!

how did this all get started?

Lauren and Tim launched season one of these daily chats to connect with leaders in “real time” — about their lives, their organizations, their sector, and the world — during the unprecedented time in our lives that was April and May 2020. Simultaneously, Tim was talking with students in his Leadership & Team Building course at The New School and realized, perhaps one of the most useful things to do at that moment was to pause the planned syllabus and allow students to connect directly with those leading in various ways at the time. We launched this livestream to come together as humans, as community, to talk about the concerns, the hopes, the hurdles, and the promise this particular moment in history offers us. With the global pandemic still in full swing, social unrest shining a much-needed light on systemic racism and oppression, and a historic U.S. presidential election, we felt it was time to dust off our microphones and sit down for another series of conversations.

Wait, who are lauren and tim again?

  • Lauren Ruffin is currently a co-CEO of Fractured Atlas, a co-founder of Crux, and a huge Duke basketball fan.

  • Tim Cynova is currently a co-CEO of Fractured Atlas. He’s passionate about all things related to people-centric org design, and is a cyclist… well, more aspirational cyclist these days based on the layer of dust collecting on his road bike.

what is work. Shouldn’t. suck.?

WSS began three years ago as simply a landing page to collect the various people-centric org design resources our Fractured Atlas People team were producing. Over the years, it has evolved to include a podcast, workshops, and a vast collection of resources dedicated to creating workplaces where people can thrive.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
